I’ve been a huge Van Halen fan for years! Yes, I prefer Sammy Hagar’s tunes over David Lee Roth’s, but the change in lead singers didn’t impact my love for the group one bit. And with all the music I’ve ever listened to in my life, “Right Now” still ranks up there as one of my favorite songs of all time.
Sure, it has a great hard rock beat for those of us who are into that sort of thing. Beyond that though, it offers an inspiring message for those who more regularly hem and haw their way through life, unwilling or maybe just unable to take the actions required to produce their intended results.
Regardless of what it is that you want to do that you aren’t currently doing, what are you waiting for? Whether you want to get that new job or join the Board of your favorite not-for-profit organization or even quit your job to start a new not-for-profit organization, quit living in the past about why that hasn’t worked until now or why you may have failed in attempting this before. And stop focusing so much attention on the “what if’s” of the future, thinking you can actually predict what may or may not happen tomorrow or the next day if you do try this or that.
Now is now. It’s not then. So it’s time to start living your life to the fullest right now and now and NOW while you still can.
